Özbey Law Office

Özbey Law Office was founded in Ankara in 1956 and is run today by the family’s third generation, Attorney Hasan Alican Özbey.

The foundation of the office was laid by Attorney Cemal Özbey. Over the years the files, the clients and the methods have changed; what has not changed is looking not at who is powerful before the law but at who is right. Today the office operates under the advisory of Attorneys Hasan Basri Özbey and Asuman Esin Özbey, with Attorney Hasan Alican Özbey running all litigation and enforcement files and Attorney and Mediator Ülkercan Özbey carrying out mediation work.

Every file is approached with the responsibility of telling a person’s story in the language of the law. Where a dispute can be resolved without going to court, mediation is considered; where going to court is unavoidable, litigation and enforcement routes are evaluated together.

Criminal law and labour law are at the centre of the office’s work.

In criminal law, the work covers representing clients in investigations and prosecutions, acting for suspects and defendants as well as complainants, victims and intervening parties, and compensation claims arising from criminal cases.

In labour and employment law, mediation and litigation are conducted in disputes such as employee receivables, reinstatement, work accidents and determination of service periods.

In family law, divorce, custody, alimony and matrimonial property disputes are handled.

In administrative law, annulment and full remedy actions against administrative acts and actions, and other disputes with the administration, are conducted.

In real estate law, clients are assisted with land registry cancellation and re-registration, partition of co-owned property, easements of passage and build-and-sell (flat-for-land) agreements.

In lease law, rent determination, adaptation, eviction and unpaid-rent disputes are handled.

In addition to these fields, the office also takes on matters in social security, enforcement and bankruptcy, consumer, inheritance, insurance and traffic accident law.
